On July 13, several fun activities and opportunities are open to the public to celebrate the advent of the 2010 Visa Championships coming to Hartford, Conn., in August. From unveiling some really cool images to fitness opportunities to demonstrations, July 13 is going to be all about gymnastics. 1996 Olympic gold-medalist Kerri Strug will be on hand for all of the festivities.
Connecticut Science Center
Bring the family down to the Science Center and take part in the Tyson Fitness Challenge Zone, where kids can have fun while learning about the four fundamentals of fitness and have the opportunity to meet Kerri Strug. Sessions scheduled at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Admission to the fitness zone is free with the purchase of Science Center admission, but the fitness tickets are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Unveiling at the XL Center
Come and be a part of the special activities held on Trembull Street in front of the XL Center at 1 p.m. In addition to several special announcements, local gymnasts will be a part of the official unveiling of some really cool images that will soon decorate the Hartford area and the renaming of Trumbull Street to "Tumble Street" with Kerri Strug, Steve Penny and local dignitaries.

See local gymnasts strut their stuff at the West Farms Mall in Farmington, CT. Local gymnasts will give a gymnastics demonstration. Kerri Strug will talk about the event and sign autographs! |
